Argentina’s consumer price index rose 2.1% month-on-month in July 2026, up from 1.9% in June and slightly above the 2.0% market forecast. Seasonal prices increased by 4.5%, mainly due to higher costs for vegetables, tour packages, and accommodation services. Regulated prices advanced 2.1%, reflecting increases in public transportation fares, private healthcare, and electricity tariffs.

Among the CPI components, Recreation and Culture recorded the sharpest monthly rise at 5.0%, driven by higher prices for tour packages and cultural services, followed by Restaurants and Hotels with a 2.8% increase. Across Greater Buenos Aires, the Northeast, Northwest, Pampas, and Patagonia regions, Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages made the largest contribution to overall monthly inflation, led by rising prices for vegetables, dairy products, bread, and cereals.

Core inflation rose 1.8% in July, supported by higher housing rents and cultural service prices. This was partially offset by a drop in building maintenance fees, following the removal of a 20% surcharge that had been applied in June.
