2026.02.1010:36:09UTC+00Greece Industrial Production Growth Eases in December

Industrial production in Greece increased by 3.9% year-on-year in December 2025, easing from an upwardly revised 4.3% rise in November. This was the fourth consecutive month of growth in industrial output, though at a slower pace, partly reflecting a continued decline in water supply (-1.5% vs -5.2% in November). At the same time, manufacturing growth also lost momentum (3.8% vs 7%), mainly due to a sharp drop in the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, as well as basic metals.

In contrast, activity strengthened markedly in mining and quarrying (68.2% vs 2.3%) and rebounded in electricity supply (1.3% vs -11.9%). By industrial grouping, growth weakened for intermediate goods (2.8% vs 5.3%), capital goods (3.8% vs 5.2%) and non-durable consumer goods (4.8% vs 6.1%), while it picked up for energy (2.2% vs -3.5%) and durable consumer goods (14.4% vs 5.4%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose by 1.4%, following a revised 1.8% increase in November.
