In June 2026, Slovakia’s industrial confidence indicator fell by 7.3 points month-on-month to -6.7, down from 0.7 in May, reaching its lowest level since November 2025. This decline was mainly driven by weaker expectations for production over the next three months (17 vs. 26), especially in the wood and paper products and transport equipment sectors. At the same time, assessments of overall order books deteriorated further (-12 vs. -8), while stocks of finished goods increased (25 vs. 16). Sentiment regarding the current level of export order books also became more pessimistic (-15 vs. -12). In contrast, evaluations of current industrial production improved markedly (28 vs. 2 in May), and the employment outlook shifted into positive territory (2 vs. -1).
