Saudi Arabia's industrial production experienced a year-on-year increase of 7.1% in August 2025, showing a deceleration from the revised 7.6% growth observed in the preceding month. This slowdown primarily stemmed from a reduced rise in oil-related activities, which grew by 8.3% compared to 8.4% in July. A significant contributing factor was the considerable slowdown in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, whose growth dropped from 23.1% to 8.9%.

For water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities, growth also moderated to 6% from 6.5% previously. However, non-oil sectors expanded more robustly, increasing by 4.4% compared to July's 3.2%, thanks in part to a rise in manufacturing output which improved to 3.7% from 3.2%. Notably, paper and paper product manufacturing grew by 3.2%, up from 2.9%, and output in chemicals and chemical products advanced to 8.6% from 8%.

Additionally, there was a notable acceleration in the production output for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, which surged to 8.7% from just 2% in the prior month. On a month-to-month basis, total industrial activity increased by 1.4%, following a 2.4% rise in July.
